Information for Parents Carers and Teachers

Balancing Act

Libraries aim to provide a wide range of materials for children and young people of all abilities. Members of staff are happy to help with information and advice on suitable books for different ages, needs and abilities.

We also provide an information service for parents, carers and people working with children. The Community Information Database provides details of clubs, societies and support groups, both local and national.

DISC - Devon's Family Information Service provides information on playgroups, childminders, nurseries, out-of-school clubs - in short, all kinds of organisations that work with and for children. DISC also provides links to other relevant web sites.

Devon Community Directory is a useful guide to services and organisations that support children and young people, parents, carers and practitioners.

The Devon School Library Service provides curriculum-focused resources and advice on all aspects of school libraries.

Young people are welcome to use our library computers and may have Internet Access at varying levels.
