Dartmoor Sunday Rover

Hop aboard the Sunday Rover network of buses and trains and enjoy a great day out.

Letting public transport take the strain is the perfect way to travel around Devon, taking in the spectacular scenery along the way with no worries about driving and parking; enjoy the wide open landscapes, visit pretty moorland villages, or enjoy a day by the sea.

With many bus and train services included there's a wide choice of places to visit.

Your ticket to a great day out

An adult day ticket costs just £6.50, providing exceptional value for money. You can buy your ticket from the driver of any of the buses shown, at Plymouth, Exeter or Barnstaple railway stations, or from the conductor on the Tamar Valley, Tarka Line trains or Dartmoor Line.

Children can get a ticket for £4.30 and a family ticket for up to 2 adults and 3 children costs just £16.00.

Holders of a National Bus pass may travel free of charge on the bus services but not on the trains.

Your ticket can be used on the following services…

  • All Stagecoach South West buses
  • All First bus services in Devon, except 92 Taunton - Cullompton, 30 Taunton - Axminster, 31 Axminster - Weymouth.192 Cullompton - Exeter. Also valid on X53 as far as Weymouth
  • Beacon Bus 118
  • Carmel Coaches services 274
  • Country Bus services 270, 274 and 279
  • Dartline services 270 and 272
  • Filers Travel services 300 and 302
  • River Link service 100
  • Western Greyhound services 510, 573, 592, and 599
  • DAC service 79B between Tavistock, Gunnislake, Callington and Liskeard
  • First Great Western Tamar Valley Line trains between Plymouth and Gunnislake, Tarka Line trains between Barnstaple, Exeter and Digby & Sowton and Dartmoor Line Trains between St James Park and Okehampton

When you can use your ticket

On any Sunday between 30th May 2010 and 19th September 2010.

May and August Bank Holidays – Train times may vary on Bank Holiday Mondays  and there is no Exeter - Okehampton train service- please check with National Rail Enquiries.

The Haytor Hoppa: This service runs from Bovey Tracey and takes a circular route to Haytor Rocks, Widecombe-in-the-Moor, Bonehill Rocks and Houndtor Rocks and Manaton before returning to Bovey Tracey.
The Transmoore Link: Why not explore more of Dartmoor by travelling on the Transmoor Link from Exeter (via Moretonhampstead) to Plymouth (via Yelverton).

Reduced Admission Prices on Attractions…

Just show your Sunday Rover ticket to get reduced price admission at all these places: Buckland Abbey, Castle Drogo, Cotehele House, Dartmoor Railway Okehampton to Meldon train, Lydford Gorge, Miniature Pony Centre, RHS Rosemoor Gardens and the Tamar Valley Donkey Park.
