Major Transport Schemes

Deep Lane Consultation

Public consultation is soon to start on four options for improvements to Deep Lane junction on the A38 by Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council and the Highways Agency. Deep Lane

Improvements at the junction will form a part of the Plymouth Eastern Corridor improvements which also aim to provide a high quality public transport link between Langage, Sherford and Plymouth city centre. These improvements are needed to accommodate growth in travel demand associated with further developments at Langage business Park and the New Community at Sherford.

Plymouth City Council is in the process of preparing a Major Scheme Bid to the Department for Transport to provide funding for the transport improvements. Public consultations are an important element of the process undertaken to prepare a Major Scheme Bid and in the summer of 2008, Plymouth City Council arranged a consultation on the whole of the Eastern Corridor scheme.
