Devon Drivers' Centre offers the facility to improve the performance, efficiency and effectiveness of private and pubic driving fleets.

More and more commercial companies and local authority departments are recognising the benefits of having well-trained, skilful drivers. The Centre runs a number of training modules for fleets and will tailor fleet training programmes according to the size, composition and needs of that fleet.

Training is focused on reducing crashes involving fleet vehicles and improving driver health and safety awareness.

The main features of the fleet training offered by the Centre are:-

• To reduce the number of road traffic incidents involving fleet drivers.
• To improve driver skills and behaviour in support of broader health, safety and environmental strategies.
• To reduce fleet transport costs through lower insurance premiums, repair costs and 'down time'.

Training can take place either at Devon Drivers' Centre or at your company's location; we have instructors based throughout the County of Devon.

We can offer both classroom-based and on-road practical training. Classroom sessions give drivers an opportunity to explore those issues and areas of driving that can conspire to weaken individual driving performance. Practical training will reflect what has been covered in the classroom as well as drawing on the safe driving skills and techniques advocated in the Highway Code, The Driving Manual and Roadcraft –The Police Drivers Handbook.

The outcome…..? A more aware, well-trained driver.

We use only top quality instructors all of whom are registered as Driving Standards Agency Approved Driving Instructors (DSA ADIs). Their qualifications include: Police Advanced Class One, and the RoSPA Diploma in Advanced Instruction. They are also members of the DSA's Fleet Register of Driver Trainers. In addition, we have instructors who hold both LGV and PCV licences as well as instructors who are qualified as advanced motorcycle trainers. Many are also well versed in trailer towing skills.
