New Road Safety Strategy 2006-2010:

Picture of draft 2005 road safety strategy cover

The Road Safety Team is committed to monitoring and reviewing its   work to ensure that we are making the greatest possible impact on   casualty reduction.  As part of this process we are currently   drafting a new Road Safety Strategy.  When completed the   Strategy   document will be an important part of this website.  In   the meantime we have made the document available in draft form so   that Devon residents can view our progress and our ideas for the   next 5 years.

Your comments and ideas are welcome.  If you wish to send us your thoughts on the draft please email us at the Road Safety Helpdesk marking your email for the attention of the County Road Safety Manager.

Devon on the Move

The Devon Road Safety Plan is a critical part of the next Local Transport Plan for Devon, 2006-2011.  Devon on the Move, the Devon Local Transport Plan 2001 to 2006, sets out Devon County Council's approach to travel and transport in Devon: helping to meet everyone's travel needs, making roads safer and providing alternatives to the car. Devon County Council publishes annual progress reports on progress being made to implement Devon on the Move, together with statistical information on traffic and accidents.

You can find out more about the Local Transport Plan for 2006-2011by visiting the Transport Planning web pages.
