Devon County Council, Great Moor House, The Devon Heritage & Information Centre, Exeter
In simple terms, controlled parking arrangements, innovative flexible working practices and effective car sharing systems will be backed by extensive public transport information and facilities for cyclists and pedestrians. The dynamic Travel Plan will endeavour to negotiate public transport fares at a favourable rate for staff, and cycling events through the bicycle user group. It will regularly publicise and promote Green Travel events and monitor the success of initiatives towards achieving the targets that will be set. The Travel Plan will operate in partnership with the Sowton Forum and the Highway Authority to ensure as far as possible that the objectives are obtainable. On Great Moor House site, all staff car parking will be controlled, some areas by barriers, and all spaces will be numbered or marked out for car-sharers and disabled. All staff will be allocated permits according to need and not as a matter of course. All visitors will be required to book a parking space in advance, if required, for the number of hours required. The Facilities Manager will co-ordinate the parking space diary.
