Schools with an approved travel plan are eligible for a grant from the Department of Education and Skills of around £5,000 for primary schools, and £10,000 for secondary schools. The funding is aimed at paying for improvements on the school site to encourage greener travel - for example cycle storage or footpaths.

Once in place your School Travel Plan should be an active document and updated regularly. This
will also mean you are eligible for further stages of the Devon TravelWise Schools Award
