For the second year in a row the highly successful Tour of Britain will be coming to Devon on Tuesday 9th September.
Last year’s Stage 2 in Somerset and north Devon was heralded by the riders and Tour of Britain race organisers as the best stage of the Tour; we expect this year to match that. Half of this year’s Stage 3 race route 185kms will be in Devon. Covering some of the best terrain in the county the race will pass through some of Devon’s most stunning countryside from the Blackdown Hills to Exmoor; the race organisers are very excited about the route we have agreed.
Towns and villages such as Hemyock, Culmstock, Willand, Tiverton, Witheridge, South Molton and North Molton will see the race route pass through their communities - a chance to see this elite international cycling event at first hand.
There will be two sprints -at Tiverton and near South Molton- and a King of the Mountains stage near North Molton.
Television coverage of the Stage on 9th September will be an hour long programme on ITV.
