4 modules:
Child development with evidenced based practice
The teaching element of this module is undertaken in two three day blocks. Four study days are also made available for the completion of the assessed assignment.
6 child observations are required as part of this module. This involves six 1.5 hour observations and write ups.
Students must have their practice observed by a practice assessor on 1 occasion in this module.
The module is assessed through a written 5000 word assignment, child observations and practice observation.
The child in context - ecological factors
The teaching element of this module is undertaken in two three day blocks. Four study days are also made available for the completion of the assessed assignment

Entry requirements
- CPSP / PQ1 ( childcare)
- Line manager endorsement
- 2years minimum post qualification experience
- candidate statement
Process
The number of places available is determined by operations managers in relation to the current financial climate.
Invitations are sent to Social work staff by email to apply for a place on the programme
They send their nomination forms to SW education
Interview with a selection panel: operational manager, practice manager, SW Education WD rep.
Student support
Students will be allocated a practice assessor throughout the programme who will provide support and monthly supervision with regard to programme issues on a monthly basis. The practice assessor will also be responsible for practice observations
