Home Improvement Agency
Devon County Council awarded a contract to a single service provider to deliver a Home Improvement Agency (HIA) service across the county from April 2006. The single contract has been awarded for a period of five years and has been jointly commissioned by the County Council, NHS Devon and the eight local District Councils.

This protocol sets out the arrangements for the joint monitoring and development of the Home Improvement Agency Contract in Devon by the Partner members. It describes the framework for local and county mechanisms which will ensure that the contract is delivered effectively and that opportunities for development and change are built into the review process
Service Monitoring and Development Board (SMDB)
The Service Monitoring and Development Board (SMDB) measures the effectiveness of Devon Care and Repair (DCR) in terms of outcomes and value for money. It monitors performance issues, trends and development and offers expertise in raising the profile of DCR and commissions intermittent audits to evaluate contract compliance. It assists in the resolution of problems and complaints and helps to acquire funds and develop good practice for new initiatives.
