Shaw’s training department delivers a learning programme for all its’ staff
- Including Induction and Foundation training to TOPSS standards
- Heath & Safety, Risk Assessment, Fire Safety, Moving & Handling, COSHH, Control of Infection, Food Infection
- Specialist training eg Dementia training, Managing challenging behaviour, Activities for the Older person
- Management training eg Leadership, Presentation skills, appraisal
- Accreditation of staff competency through our Coaching and Mentoring appraisal
- Preparation for commencing NVQ training
Its success in achieving training outcomes depends on encouraging partnerships between care staff, home managers, regional trainers and regional management. Shaw has a strong commitment to adopting the principles of the “investors in people” standard in identifying training needs to meet its service objectives. Arrangements are in place for supervision and appraisal, identifying training needs and evaluating the impact of training on staff performance and service delivery.
