How will Personal Brokerage affect me?
As a Service User
- Personal Brokerage will give Service Users a wide choice of Providers
- Personal Brokerage will give service users much greater involvement in the commissioning process:
- Service Users will help to write their outcomes which describe and prioritises their FACS eligible needs to potential Providers
- Service Users will be involved in Provider selection
- Care packages will be clearly linked to outcomes
As a Provider
- Personal Brokerage will enable Providers to see what types of care packages DCC is looking to commission
- Feedback will be given to Providers where they are unsuccessful in obtaining new business
- Feedback will also be given at a strategic commissioning level in terms of types of care packages commissioned
As a Care Manager
- Care packages will be described in terms of desired outcomes rather than inputs
- Care Managers will no longer need to identify suitable providers to deliver a particular care package
- Care Managers will no longer need to negotiate with providers
- Care Managers will have more time to work with service users
