Modernised Service - Charlton Lodge

In 2002, Charlton Lodge used to be a 47 place residential home, mainly long-stay, but including four respite and two reablement places. The home itself is 30 years old and has been refurbished to provide 30 places; ten of which are intermediate care places (for people who need help before and after hospital treatment), two other short-stay places and ten long stay places.

A multi-agency Rapid Response Team to keep people in their own homes is based at Charlton Lodge. Staff take referrals direct from GPs and District Nurses to prevent hospital or residential home admissions.

Charlton Lodge also provides a Day Care Centre and community meals. There is a luncheon club which runs twice a week.
