Axcess Employment
Work placements
The Placement Officers’ role is vital to the success of Axcess Employment Services. Whilst our beneficiaries develop work experience and work-related skills in our business- and training-units it is the Placement Officers’ responsibility to find job opportunities with employers that can be sustained.
One of the first steps that a beneficiary takes towards employment is to develop a comprehensive vocational profile. Our vocational profiling system was developed in an earlier Euro/Social Services funded project. Profiling enables us to identify individuals’ skills and interests. This person-centred approach is essential for a successful job match.

| Strong links with employers are crucial; they provide work experience and job placements. Positive communication between employers and Placement Officers ensures we shape tasks and job-roles to accomodate the skills and disabilities of our beneficiaries. Such positive communication allows us to create and sustain employment for our beneficiaries - our employment service does not end when the beneficiary takes up his post. |
The valuable links developed with Job Centre Plus and Devon Welfare Rights enable everyone to remain abreast of changes in the employment market. We can then feedback this into the OCR-approved courses we offer in Office Skills, Preparation For Employment and Job-Seeking and our in-house Customer Care course. | ![]() |

At the end of the day our work in Access to Employment is led by our beneficiaries - we provide an holistic environment that enables our beneficiaries to achieve and sustain employment. For many this may be their first experience of work. Our aim - to make it the best start that we can.
