The Grumbleweeds, our popular Contract Gardening business, serves a variety of customers in Exeter and the surrounding area. The business has been operating for the past ten years and is made up of a close-knit team of six beneficiaries supported by a Community Resource Worker. The beneficiaries are trained in all aspects of gardening work: weeding, pruning, planting as well as the safe use and handling of petrol-powered mowers, strimmers and hedge cutters. In addition to learning all the skills needed for a busy gardening team they undergo training in Health and Safety, Moving and Handling and Customer Care.

In addition to work with private customers we have a number of regular contracts with local businesses.

Training is essential for the commercial success of Grumbleweeds. The team maintains its skills while working safely, ensuring their customers continue to receive a professional service.
