Community life choices strategy
Devon County Council are consulting on the Community Life Choices Strategy
The strategy describes Devon County Council’s commissioning intentions for day and respite services for all adults over 18 years of age until 2015/16.
We would like what people think about the strategy. We will be gathering views from focus groups and also from a self-completion questionnaire.
The questionnaire is available from this website under documents below
Devon County Council wants to ensure that all adults have the best opportunity to live a full life that maximises their health and well being, enables them to realise their full potential and ensures that they play as active a part in their local communities as possible. It is our belief that these aspirations if met will not only improve the lives of vulnerable adults and their carers but also help to build resilience and to remove, reduce or delay their long term reliance on publicly subsidised services.
We want to ensure that future provision is in line with the eligible needs and preferences of the people of Devon, this means developing and implementing a commissioning strategy that responds to the increasing use of personal budgets and that is informed by national policy and research, a robust needs assessment and gap analysis, a financially sustainable framework and by the views of vulnerable adults and carers themselves
