Devon Link

Devon Link was Devon County Council's regular magazine for disabled people and carers in Devon.

Since the first issue in 1984, the magazine's mix of real people interviews, thought-provoking features, letters, and the most useful local information proved popular with Devon's disabled people and carers.

Although Devon Link was funded and produced by Devon County Council (with additional funding from Torbay Council), the contents of the magazine was determined by its readers and a team of disabled correspondents based around the county – as well as the editor.

Unfortunately, earlier this year Devon County Council made the difficult decision to stop producing Devon Link after the Spring 2010 issue, as it is no longer viable to continue to fund the magazine in its current format. Living Options first user-lead magazine Positive Devon Living is ready! 40 full colour pages offering disability and Deaf Community related news, information and stories the majority of which is provided and created by our service users. Positive Devon Living is available free to residents of Devon.

Devon County Council has worked closely with disability organisation Living Options Devon in recent years to produce Devon Link. Living Options Devon intend to produce a new user-led magazine specifically for disabled people and carers to replace Devon Link later this year.
