The Joint Commissioning Body (JCB) comprises the Chief Executives and an Elected Member or Board Member representatives from Devon County Council, the eight District Councils, the Devon Primary Care Trust and Probation Services. Its main responsibilities are:

• To agree the Devon Supporting People Strategy for approval by the nine local authorities in Devon
• To agree the joint commissioning objectives as set out in each Annual Implementation Plan
• To agree the financial commitments necessary to deliver the above Plans
• To direct the Administering Authority (Devon County Council) on the use and application of the Supporting People Grant
