The quality and the range of services on offer via Social Services and the NHS is very important to a lot of people in Devon (you may be one of them) - and that is why they were reviewed.
Devon County Council and the NHS Primary Care Trusts joined forces on a wide-reaching 'Best Value' review of health and social care services for people with a physical disability or acquired brain injury (of working age) in Devon - and people currently using the services were offered a significant role in the review.
Dr David Foottit, a member of the review steering group, said at the start: "We need to know what services people receive, what they feel is missing and how they feel services can be improved. We hope to involve service users through an extensive survey and focus groups throughout Devon.
"Through this consultation process, we are aiming for a comprehensive and progressive range of services in Devon for people with a physical disability."
The review was supported by the acute hospital trusts, voluntary and private organisations and the review itself was independently conducted by management consultants QRM.
