Care Direct Devon

Care Direct is a service being developed by the Department for Work and Pensions in partnership with Devon Social Services. Its aim is to make life easier for older people by making information and help available when they need it. This includes:

  • Care and Support
    Information about social services and other groups offering care and support. It includes advice on aids, adaptations, home alarm schemes, etc.
  • Your Home
    Advice about housing benefit, council tax, sheltered housing and housing placements. Care Direct also has information about how to get help with alterations, repairs and keeping your house warm and secure.
  • Money and Benefits
    Benefits advice including Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance and Carers Allowance. Pensions and Taxation, help with filling in applications forms.
  • Keeping Well
    Advice on how to lead an active healthy life; including diet and exercise, information on social clubs and day centres etc.
