Taking a Break

Sitting Services

Some opportunities are available for carers to take a break in their own right.  These are often called "sitting" or "breaks" services.  This involves a suitably-trained person coming into your home to sit with the cared-for person, ot they may take them out to give you a break if this is your preferred choice.

All of these types of breaks services for carers of adults are being pulled together under one scheme from the 1 April 2007. The scheme will be called Take a Break. Here is more information about the Take a Break service

For information about breaks services for carers or disabled children contact your local carer development worker here, or look at the DISC Plus website.
