South Hams and West Devon Carers Forum

Having your say - Devon's Involvement Framework

The aim of this group is to support the carers' role within South Hams and West Devon PCT area.

Meetings are to be held every three months, in tandem with the South Hams and West Devon Carers Management Group.

The Chair of the Forum will be a local carer, elected by the carer members of the Forum.

Open to all carers resident in South Hams and West Devon PCT area;
Officer representation from the PCT and the four Social Care Divisions;
A County Councillor from South Hams and West Devon;
A PCT Non-executive Member;
Carers Development and Support Workers in East Devon;
Other individuals and organisations, e.g. local branches of Carers UK, former carers, etc. with an interest in carers' issues, as agreed by the Forum.

To maintain an overview of all carers' issues and services within South Hams and West Devon;
To identify local needs and issue which require an 'all carers' approach;
To receive reports from local Social Care Divisions in relation to specific groups of carers relevant to that division;
To monitor the effectiveness of local carer involvement and carer support;
To promote local membership of the Carers Links Network;
To make recommendations for action and to monitor outcomes;
To provide an opportunity to share good practice and information on new initiatives.
