Networks of Support
Support is being offered to all schools in Devon through the development of clusters and networks of schools. Resources are being allocated to these clusters to enable sustainable working practices to be developed. It may be that you are part of a cluster. Indeed your experiences will be invaluable to other schools developing practice. All future support to schools will be via these local network arrangements.
Lead SEAL Schools
We are seeking to develop between 8 and 10 SEAL lead schools across Devon. These schools will show high levels of practice in terms of using the SEAL materials (usually identified by school SEAL self review). They will also have the desire and capacity to spread this good practice to surrounding schools. Initially, we will provide a small amount of funding for this to take place (potentially release time for a member of staff on a regular basis). If you are interested in this development please talk to your Primary Behaviour Network (PBN) Advisory Teacher. It is envisaged that these lead schools will probably, but not exclusively, come from the original SEAL pilot schools.
PHSE and SEAL Links Training
All along we have been stressing the importance of the link between PSHE and SEAL. Annette Lyons and her team will be running training sessions to support the mapping of SEAL into the PSHE curriculum on the following dates:
- 2nd November
- 16th January
- 8th May
(This will be booked through the dcs cpd website and is likely to be free)
