DAPH Briefings and Council Meetings 2010/2011

DAPH Briefings

All serving headteachers of Devon primary schools are members of DAPH and are strongly encouraged to attend the Briefing sessions which are recognised as the forum for the communication of key messages on issues affecting schools. The Briefings, which are three times a year,  across four regional venues, are free of charge to members and are usually held in the morning followed by lunch.

There is a regular update from Judith Johnson, Director for Learning & Schools plus other invited guests and the opportunity for headteachers to ask questions, provide feedback, as well as discuss and share views on matters affecting school leadership.

DAPH Council Meetings

DAPH Council meetings are usually held in the afternoon following the Briefing session above. The Council is made up of the DAPH Representatives elected from the 31 Learning Communities. The purpose of the meetings are to share and discuss work being undertaken and best practices within individual Learning Communities, identifying areas where DAPH may be able to provide further support or guidance and provide feedback on common issues raised previously.

For the Spring 2010 Council meetings, only a single meeting will be held on Tuesday 9 March 2010 at the Tiverton Hotel, bringing together the Chairs and DAPH representatives of all the Learning Communities. The meeting with be facilitated jointly by DAPH and Sue Clarke, Strategic Lead for Achievement through Collaboration. An agenda for this meeting will be published shortly.

Summer and Autumn Briefing and Council Meetings scheduled for May and November 2010 will revert to the usual arrangements with a Briefing in the morning and DAPH Council in the afternoon.
