Admission Arrangements
Determined admission arrangements for 2011-12
The arrangements have been determined or set by the Local Authority or by the Governing Body of those schools which are their own admissions authority. If you have a question about any aspect of these arrangements, please contact the Policy and Strategy Officer.
Devon County Council is the admission authority for all Voluntary Controlled (VC) and Community schools.
The co-ordinated admission schemes apply to all schools, including VA, Foundation and Trust Schools as well as VC and Community schools and will be in effect for admissions during the 2011-12 academic year.
The designated areas for schools in Devon can be viewed at School designated area maps.
If you would like this in a different format such as large print, Braille or tape, or in a different language, please contact the Council’s Information Centre on 01392 380101 or email: info@devon.gov.uk.
Co-ordinated admissions schemes (in-year, primary & secondary)
For admissions in 2011-12, all Local Authorities are required to have co-ordinated schemes for admission to schools and colleges at primary and secondary level. The purpose of the schemes is to put in place arrangements to ensure, as far as is reasonably practicable, that every parent of a child living in the Local Authority (LA) area who has applied for a school place in the “normal admissions round” receives an offer of one, and only one, school place on the same day. The same principle applies to admissions at other times – “in-year admissions”.
Primary Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme This covers the normal round of admissions to primary (including infant and junior) schools in Devon LA for 2011-12. See the determined primary co-ordinated scheme for 2011-12 here |
Secondary Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme This covers the normal round of admissions to secondary schools in Devon LA for 2011-12. See the determined secondary co-ordinated scheme for 2011-12 here |
In-Year Co-ordinated Admissions Scheme and Fair Access Protocol This covers admissions to primary and secondary schools after the normal round in Devon LA for 2011-12. See the in-year co-ordinated scheme for 2011-12 here |
