Music Comes 2 Town, Newton Abbot

‘Music Comes 2 Town’, the two-day music festival organised by Devon Music Service in Newton Abbot was a fantastic success.

Friday 4th March was a day of poetry and music with Dennis Rollins and Noah Messomo. Highweek School welcomed four other schools to join them in this innovative project, where children set their poems to music, helped along by funky backing tracks and over 40 djembe drums.

Saturday 5th March: MC2T by day…

With MC2T events in eight venues, the town was buzzing with many kinds of music. All the Devon Youth County Bands, Orchestras and Ensembles came to town and welcomed members of the public to their rehearsals and performances.

Ken Parr, Head of Devon Music Service said, “I was delighted to see so many people engaging in musical activities, and having so much fun! As I walked from venue to venue I was thrilled to see and hear people of all ages excited about making music together.”
