Throughout the spring term, our County Youth Orchestra will be visiting Devon schools to help students with their composition work.  

Along with Elfyn Jones and Kip Pratt, CYO members will visit two schools in one day, demonstrating their instrument and helping GCSE students with their composition work.  

Composition ideas will be generated from elements of Mars and Jupiter from ‘The Planets’ by Holst, which the CYO members will play.  They will then be actively engaged in developing new composition ideas, alongside their GCSE colleagues.

We hope that the project will both inspire young composers and generate more interest in the County Youth Orchestra amongst Devon schools.
