Exciting projects

Devon Schools Mix XL

Devon Music Service annual music festival 'Mix XL,' open to all Devon LEA schools, returns on Wednesday 27th June 2007 and promises to be even bigger and better than last year’s Remix Festival at Westpoint.

This year the festival theme is 'The World Comes to Devon' – and schools across Devon will be invited to take part in a range of exciting arts, media and music projects in the lead-up to the event.  For example, there are plans to cover the arena with artwork produced by children from Devon schools.  In addition, DMS are trying to organise international live-links with South Africa, so that children can experience the sounds of music from many different cultures.  Please contact DMS for more information on these projects.

There is an exciting range of music performances and workshops from around the world including; Lauren Maccoll, Burning Bush, American West, Oojami, the Royal Marine Bands, Andy Warn's Gamalean and lots more.

Gemini will be bringing along the 'Black Thunder.'  Watch out for a special joint promotion!!

Devon’s County Ensembles will all be performing on the day, giving you the opportunity to see some of the finest young musicians play.  Devon’s County Youth Orchestra have also been busy rehearsing and will perform suites from Holst’s The Planets on the day.

Booking forms and information will be available from 14th March 2007.
