Africa Odyssey

Denis Kigongo, Herbert Kinobe and  Michael Ouma are an energetic African drumming and Dance troupe from different regions of Uganda– all united in a passion for Ugandan and African arts culture.  With a 10 piece percussion section, and a wide selection of other Ugandan and African wind and string instruments, the group showcases the music from different parts of Uganda (Africa) - fusing the songs, rhythms and dances of Africa with some European sounds in some cases.

Based on original African source material,  AFRICA ODYSSEY explores the African music techniques based on traditional practices on the continent of Mother Africa.

In conjunction with DMS, African Odyssey will be visiting 20 schools to provide free workshops during June and July, teaching music that reflects the lives of the African people, the culture, songs, stories, and drum patterns.
