Projects 2009/10
Countess Wear School
Working with the class teacher, to make instruments from recycled materials. This is a cross-curricular project incorporating the science of sound, drawing instruments, literacy (describing instruments and how they work), DT and of course music.
Pupils will study a range of classroom and ethnic instruments, drawing and describing them, then attempt to make their own instruments from materials obtained from the Exeter Scrapstore.
Olly Davey will provide input on the techniques for making the instruments (using a Twangaphone and a drum made from a plastic tube/hoop obtained from the Scrapstore).
