Location

The centre is situated in the city of Exeter by the River Exe and historic Exeter ship canal. The Centre takes up to 12 groups of students at any one time, working in maximum group sizes of 12.

Not all of these groups will be at the Centre: some will be on Dartmoor caving, climbing or walking whilst others sailing, canoeing and windsurfing will be on the River Exe. The on site climbing wall and orienteering course offer further scope. The canal and river are sheltered with no dangerous weirs or rapids and can be safely used all the year round.

Facilities

The Centre has purpose-converted waterfront premises with heated changing rooms, showers, a classroom, extensive stores and outside areas. It has a large stock of equipment to suit all ages and abilities, with over 70 canoes and kayaks, 18 sailing boats, 10 windsurfers, safety boats, climbing kits, a permanent orienteering course on the adjacent country park, an on-site climbing wall and environmental studies equipment.
