This toolkit is aimed at schools considering ‘hard’ federation. The Devon toolkit offers a bank of information alongside a route map showing the processes and procedures required to establish a federation of schools.

The toolkit contains model letters, documents and resources that can be adapted for use by any school. These include an information leaflet for parents and a power point presentation template which can be used at consultation meetings. The pack also contains guidance on staffing and finance issues.

Information about federation is available but held within a number of different websites and resource materials. Navigating the range of information can be problematic and separating out advice about formal federation from other forms of collaboration is not always straightforward.

The Devon toolkit brings together all aspects of the federation process into one document to support schools.
