Loans and Reference Library within Devon Consortium area only

For the use of teachers and students, the Traveller Education Service has an archive and resource room in Plymouth with a large collection of books, photographs, videos and other materials from many sources. Some of the material can only be viewed on site for research.
A full list of resources is available from the Traveller Education Service and schools may have a loan collection for up to half a term.
The  venue for the Loan and Reference Collection is in the Watts Road Building, Watts Road, St Judes, Plymouth, behind Salisbury Road School.

Exhibitions

Four exhibitions are available for loan

  • The Showmen's Year - A series of 20 mounted colour photographs
  • Pictures of Ourselves - A series of photographs and text showing the lives of teenage Gypsy Traveller children.
  • The Work of the Traveller Education Service - Ten boards describing the range of the service's work in photographs and text.
  • Traveller Health Matters - Three boards highlighting the difficulties of access to healthcare for Travellers
