4. The strategy and vision 2006 - 2009

Due to the pace of change the strategy can only define a direction of travel. Alongside this there needs to be a strong governance structure that will allow regular review in the light of this business change. It is the service and its stakeholders who must inform and own the ICT strategy.

In terms of the business context there are some consistent themes which, in essence, drive the ICT strategy:

  • A customer (children and families) focus.
  • A fully integrated approach.
  • Secure access to systems - anywhere, anytime.

These themes are fully reflected in the action plan and work packages.
