The role of the coach has become increasingly important in today’s sport. The quality of sports development programmes and the enjoyment, safety and performance of participants are directly linked to the quality of the coach. We are therefore committed to raising the standard of sport coaching, together with acknowledging and supporting the role of the sports coach in Devon.

If you are interested in becoming qualified as a sports coach or in finding out more about other aspects of sports development - the Devon Sports Coach Education Programme is now available from the Active Devon Sports Partnership website . It contains details on what sports coaching qualifications are available in the county and where they are to be held.

Courses are available in a wide range of sports, and in areas such as Child Protection in Sport, Coaching Disabled People and First Aid.
