For the 2008-09 season

Exemptions from charges: any ensemble member who is a pupil of a Devon County Council school and who is a child in care or eligible for free school meals will be eligible for free membership of any county ensemble.

Sibling discount: We offer a 50% reduction on membership for siblings of a full-paying child.  Where fees vary between ensembles, the discount will apply to the cheaper ensemble

The membership charges represent approximately one third of the total cost of running the ensemble programme.  The remaining cost is covered by Devon County Council, the government’s Music Standards Fund and funds raised by ensemble events.  The differences in the charges for different ensembles reflect the fact that some ensembles will receive a slightly different experience.

The membership charges for 2008-09 cover participation in the events listed in the Season Calendar.  If ensembles achieve success in festivals or competitions involving extra activities within the UK during the season, we do not intend to increase the charge.  

Please note that the membership charge does not include free or discounted tickets for family members to attend ensemble concerts which are organised by bodies other than Devon Music Service.
