LEARNER SUPPORT BURSARY SCHEME
Learner Support Bursaries are a limited pocket of funds available to help Sixth Form students who are either ineligible for EMA on grounds of household income for the previous tax year which has since reduced or the student has additional course related expenses such as equipment or study trips that cannot be adequately covered by the EMA they receive.
Learner Support Bursaries are available for students on a full time course at a School who normally live in the parental home and travel to School daily. They also should be resident within the Devon County Council boundaries at the time of application and have been ordinarily resident in the United Kingdom for the 3 years immediately before the start of their course.
If you wish to apply for a Learner Support Bursary, you will need to fill in an application form which can be obtained from your School
You will need to return your application form to the address given with the relevant documentary evidence requested. We will then assess whether you qualify for a Bursary and will write to you with the result.
Applications must be submitted as soon as possible because there is a limited pocket of monies for these Bursaries and so please make an early application. Once these monies have been exhausted, no further Bursaries can normally be given.
For more information please contact Matt Smale, Devon County Council, Kingfisher House, Western Way Exeter, EX1 2DE. Telephone 01392 381939.
