Apprentice Achievements

16 November 2010: Graduation ceremony for the 2008 intake of Apprentices.
12 October 2010: The 2010 intake took part in the 11 million takeover day; a national event organised by the Children’s Commissioner for England.
11 October 2010: The fifth group of 8 apprentices began scheme.
September 2010: 2009 intake formed part of the interview panels in the recruitment process for the next intake of apprentices.
4 August 2010: 2009 intake completed a volunteering challenge at Exmouth Children's Centre where they created a garden at the entrance to the centre.
April 2010: The 2008 group completed their Advanced Apprenticeships in Business and Administration or Customer Service.
October 2009: One apprentice from the 2008 intake won the Young Advisor of the Year at the My Devon Customer Service Centre.
8 October 2009: Graduation ceremony for the 2007 intake of Apprentices.
5 October 2009: The fourth group of eight apprentices began scheme.
16 September 2009: The 2007 intake of Apprentices completed the Devon County Council Apprenticeship Programme and all secured permanent employment within the County Council.
September 2009: The 2008 intake formed part of the recruitment process for the 2009 intake of apprentices.
August 2009: Two apprentices from the 2008 intake attended the Area of European Regions Summer School in Valencia, Spain.
July 2009: One apprentice from the 2007 intake appeared in an article on the apprenticeship scheme in Devon Talk.
June 2009: One apprentice from the 2008 intake began the project of organising the graduation ceremony for the 2007 intake of apprentices.
28 May 2009: The 2008 group completed a volunteering challenge at Wynstream Primary School, Exeter where they created a sensory garden.
May 2009: The 2008 group completed their Apprenticeships in Business and Administration, Customer Service or ICT.
April 2009: The 2007 group completed their Advanced Apprenticeships in either Business and Administration or Customer Service.
April 2009: Two apprentices from the 2007 intake assisted with the recruitment process for the Civil Engineering Apprenticeship Programme.
March 2009: One apprentice from the 2007 intake presented at the Assembly of European Regions Meeting in Brussels.
February 2009: Two apprentices from the 2007 intake appeared on Radio Devon to promote the apprenticeship scheme.
February 2009: One apprentice from the 2007 intake represented DCC as part of a team that competed at the Young Local Authority of the Year Challenge in Lancaster.
January 2009: The 2008 group met Cllr Vanessa Newcombe (Young People’s Champion).
November 2008: The 2008 group met Heather Barnes, Executive Director of Corporate Resources.
October 2008: The 2007 intake of apprentices presented their completed mosaic from the volunteering challenge to Willowbrook School, Exeter.
14 October 2008: Graduation ceremony for the 2006 intake of Apprentices.
5 October 2008: The 2006 intake of Apprentices completed the Devon County Council Apprenticeship Programme and have all secured permanent employment within the County Council.
29 September 2008: The third group of eleven Apprentices began scheme.
September 2008: The 2007 intake formed part of the interview panels in the recruitment process for the next intake of Apprentices.
August 2008: One apprentice from the 2007 intake attended the Assembly of European Regions Summer School held in Sweden.
August 2008: The 2007 intake of Apprentices undertook a volunteering challenge where they created a mosaic for Willowbrook School in Exeter.
July 2008: The 2007 group completed their Apprenticeship qualifications in Business and Administration, Customer Service or IT.
June 2008: The Apprentices received a nomination in the group category for the Devon County Council Young People's Achievement Awards 2008.
June 2008: Nathan Grimes won the e-Skills ICT Apprentice of the Year Award 2008 at a ceremony in London.
February 2008: Two apprentices from the 2006 intake represented Devon County Council as part of a team that competed at the Young Local Authority of the Year Challenge in Bournemouth.
January 2008: The Apprenticeship Programme won the Devon County Council Equality Best Practice Award 2007/2008.
December 2007: An apprentice from the 2007 intake joined the Devon County Council Equality Reference Group to represent the viewpoint of young people in the development of current and future practices and services in the County Council.
17 September 2007: The second group of seven Apprentices began scheme.
September 2007: The Devon County Council young people's webpages were created with the 2006 intake playing an instrumental part in their development.
August 2007: 2006 intake formed part of the interview panels in the recruitment process for the next intake of Apprentices.
July 2007: 2006 intake presented to Full Council on their experiences to-date on the Apprenticeship Programme.
April 2007: 2006 intake undertook a volunteering challenge at Ladysmith Infant School in Exeter where they painted a jungle scene in one of the cloakrooms.
April 2007: 2006 intake presented to Corporate Management Board on their experiences to-date on Apprenticeship Programme.
5 October 2006: Pilot group of six Apprentices began scheme.
