- About to retire
Devon Pension Services has to receive formal notification of your leaving from your employer. Until that is received, the pension cannot be processed.
Once set up, your pension is paid on the last working day of each calendar month direct to your bank account. You will receive your first pay advice slip, but unless the amount going into your bank varies by more than £1each month, you will not receive monthly pay advice slips.
If you are entitled to a lump sum, or have chosen to convert some of your annual pension into a lump sum, you will receive that AFTER you have retired.

- Calculation and payment of your pension
The calculation of your pension and lump sum retirement benefits is based on your final pensionable salary together with your reckonable service in the scheme.
- Re-employment
You may decide to take up further employment once you have retired. If the work you do is NOT in local government, your LGPS pension is not affected. If you once more work for local government, you may only earn the difference between your LGPS pension and the amount you were earning when you retired before it affects the amount you receive from your local government pension.
- Death of a pensioner
Please inform us of the death of a scheme pensioner member as soon as is practicable. You may contact us by telephone - 01392 688224 - or use this form. 
If a pensioner dies there may be a lump sum and a survivor’s pension payable to the spouse, civil partner, or nominated cohabiting partner.

If you change address - You can let us know in writing, or email or using the change of address form
If you change your bank or building society account. You can only let us by writing to us, using our form or by calling at our offices.
Please tell us of address or bank changes by the 7th of the month as this will allow us to make the changes effective in the following month.
If you accept another job with an employer who takes part in the Local Government Pension Scheme, by law you must tell us this in writing.
