Definitive Map Review

West Down

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, regraded or deleted.

A review of the Definitive Map was started in West Down parish with a public meeting in September 2008. Consultations on the review are taking place with landowners, local authorities, user and landowner groups and there has been a notice in the local paper for the general public, with notices on site.

A consultation map has been published showing suggested changes for modifying the Definitive Map for West Down parish in respect of two routes: Parish consultation map (4.7 MB JPG); Consultation schedule image - PDF icon (33KB - pdf help)

Route 2: Proposed diversion – Footpath No. 3

To divert part of the recorded footpath between Stocklands Lane and Stocklands Hill Farm onto the route currently used

Grid ref: SS 500401–502403 /504404–505405
