The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires the County Council to keep the Definitive Map of public rights of way under continuous review and to make modifications where it appears that routes should be added, amended, regraded or deleted.  A review is currently being undertaken in the Parish of Newton & Noss.

Your views and any relevant evidence are sought on the following suggestions for modifying the Definitive Map for Newton & Noss:

Suggestion 1 (118KB - pdf help): Footpath No. 28 – amendment of the Definitive Map to show the footpath running through the grounds of Warren Cottage, as described in the Definitive Statement (SX 5360 4659 – 5366 4656).

Suggestion 2 (164KB - pdf help): Footpath No. 36 – amendment of the Definitive Map to show the footpath joining the end of Passage Road, near Ferry Cottage, as described in the Definitive Statement (SX 5384 4752 – 5390 4752).

Suggestion 3 (135KB - pdf help): Footpath No. 21 – amendment of the Definitive Map to show the footpath joining Stoke Road, opposite Bridgend Quay, as described in the Definitive Statement (SX 5544 4797 – 5542 4798).

Suggestion 4 (137KB - pdf help): Footpath No. 16 – amendment of the Definitive Map to show the footpath over Yealm Steps, as described in the Definitive Statement (SX 5400 4801 – 5398 4803).

Suggestion 5 (159KB - pdf help): Footpath Nos. 1 & 2 – part deletion as now adopted county road/footway (SX 5526 4808 – 5513 4799 & SX 5525 4806 – 5510 4805).

Suggestion 6 (159KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from the end of Riverside Road East (SX 5505 4796) to Footpath No. 1 (SX 5508 4797).

Suggestion 7 (135KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Stoke Road at The Malthouse (SX 5546 4807) to the foreshore (SX 5546 4809).

Suggestion 8 (172KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Riverside Road West, opposite Vine Cottage (SX 5466 4787) to the foreshore (SX 5465 4787).

Suggestion 9 (172KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Creekside Road (SX 5481 4756) running adjacent to Tidal Waters to Noss Hard, registered common land (SX 5479 4758).

Suggestion 10 (172KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Passage Road (SX 5466 4775) down Axworthy Slip to the foreshore (SX 5465 4775).

Suggestion 11 (164KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Passage Road (SX 5409 4783) down Wide Slip to the foreshore (SX 5405 4782).

Suggestion 12 (164KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Passage Road (SX 5402 4767) down Kilpatrick’s Steps to the foreshore (SX 5402 4769).

Suggestion 13 (164KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Footpath No. 36, opposite the Toll House at Ferry (SX 5390 4751), to the foreshore (SX 5388 4754).

Suggestion 14 (141KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from the B3186 Parsonage Road (SX 5512 4829) running between the W.I. Hall and The Green and adjacent to Court Road (SX 5504 4820).

Suggestion 15 (135KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Stoke Road (SX 5543 4800) across Bridgend Quay, down steps to the foreshore (SX 5535 4798).

Suggestion 16 (130KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Pillory Hill (SX 5516 4783) down steps to pumping station to the foreshore (SX 5515 4784).

Suggestion 17 (134KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from the county road at Membland (SX 5682 4810) to the county road near Pool Mill Farm (SX 5775 4832).

Suggestion 18 (138KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from the county road Middlecombe Lane (SX 5505 4699) along a defined path, known as Kennel Lane, to the county road near Clevemoor (SX 5518 4689).

Suggestion 19 (159KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Footpath No. 2 (SX 5501 4806) along a defined path known as Donkey Path to Riverside Road East (SX 5502 4796).  

Suggestion 20 (172KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from Footpath No. 7 (SX 5486 4775) across Pope’s Quay to steps at end of the quay (SX 5484 4774).

Suggestion 21 (128KB - pdf help): Addition of a public footpath from the Newton Downs road (SX 5543 4892) through Butt’s Park to the football and cricket ground to rejoin the Newton Downs road (SX 5552 4904).
