Waste Local Plan

Waste Local Plan: Re-Deposit Version

Under the transitional development plan arrangements introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, the Devon County Waste Local Plan was re-deposited for public consultation. The period for comments to be submitted to the County Council ended on Monday, 26 September 2005.

Copies of the Re-Deposit Version can be purchased from the County Council, or inspected at the locations identified in the Public Notice.

On 10 November 2005, the County Council published for consultation its Proposed Pre-Inquiry Changes, which address issues arising from recent Government guidance and other changes since publication of the Re-Deposit Version, together with matters of error and clarification.

On the same date, the Council published for consultation a Schedule of Omission Sites, comprising new sites for waste management facilities put forward by objectors, and those sites where objectors have requested changes to the site boundary or the range of potential facilities. For both of these documents, the period for making objections expired on Friday, 23 December 2005.

The County Council published a note setting out its position on each of the Omission Sites, which can be viewed below.

The Public Inquiry to consider objections to the Waste Local Plan commenced on Tuesday, 10 January 2006 and closed on 9 February 2006. Further information on the Inquiry can be seen by clicking on the link below. The Inspector's Report, including his binding decisions, was received in June 2006, and can be read by clicking on the link below. In his report, the Inspector refers to a schedule of changes submitted by the County Council on 6 February 2006, and this is also provided below for ease of reference.

It is intended that the County Council will adopt the Waste Local Plan in accordance with the Inspector's report shortly, and full details will be provided on this website.
