Devon's landscape character assessment
Devon Landscape Policy Group
Since 2005 there has been an informal partnership of officers, from various local authorities, AONBs and Natural England, working towards the development of the Devon Landscape Character Assessment. This partnership worked extremely well and as a means of demonstrating integrity and robustness of the Devon Landscape Character Assessment and to ensure coordination and consistency of future landscape work the partnership was formalised as the Devon Landscape Policy Group.
It is intended that the Devon Landscape Policy Group will be recognised by local authorities and other land management organisations as the ‘steering group’ for the Devon Landscape Character Assessment; for guiding the development of landscape policy, guidance and monitoring; and for assisting and enabling the implementation of the European Landscape Convention.
