Bird Gallery

A wide range of both common and rare bird species occur at Stover with many species breeding, including the great crested grebe and our resident swans. During the winter months a variety of wildfowl arrive on the lake such as pochard, tufted duck, teal and wigeon.

Bird feeders can be found at various points around the park including the aerial walkway and by the Visitor Centre. These are frequently used by woodland birds such as nuthatch, blue tit and great spotted woodpeckers.

Areas of heathland on site provide nest sites for nightjars, and the conifers attract crossbills in the autumn and provide nesting sites for siskins and goldcrests.
