Grand Western Canal

Waterway Code of Conduct

The Grand Western Canal Country Park Ranger Service has launched a Waterway Code of Conduct, encouraging safe and considerate use of the canal channel by boaters and anglers. The code explains the behaviour expected of all waterway users and reminds people that swimming is not permitted in the Canal.

The Waterway Code of Conduct image - PDF icon (411KB - pdf help) has been published as a leaflet which will be given to all boaters and anglers when they buy their permits and as a poster that will be placed in several of the noticeboards along the towpath.

The Waterway Code of Conduct compliments the Country Park's Towpath Code of Conduct. It has been developed in partnership with groups and individuals representing the boating, angling and wildlife interests on the Canal and has been endorsed by the Canal's Joint Advisory Committee.
