Join Rangers at the Grand Western Canal for a midweek 'Walk & Talk' and discover the sights and sounds of the Country Park and Local Nature Reserve. These walks are part of 'Tiverton's Walking the way to Health Initiative'(WHI). The WHI is the largest national body promoting and setting the standards for led health walks. It is a joint initiative between Natural England and the British Heart Foundation. WHI aims to encourage people, particularly those who take little exercise, to do regular short walks in their communities.

Tiverton's Walk & Talk group meet weekly and fortnightly for moderate walks of 1 to 2 hours in the Mid Devon area. Some of these walks are held at the canal and are led by the Ranger Service.
