Energy Saving Trust – the Green Communities programme of the Energy Saving Trust aims to support, facilitate and promote community based energy projects. From free training and advice focused on project planning and funding, to technical support and a website packed with resources - Green Communities can help you make a success of your ideas and projects.
Community Footprint Calculator - REAP Petite is a software tool developed by Stockholm Environment Institute to help communities calculate their ecological or carbon footprint and test the effectiveness of a number of footprint reducing pledges. It is designed to be used by a community or with a community, and can be used to support campaigning, fund-raising, awareness raising, engaging with the local council or simply as an exercise in itself.
The Community Council of Devon (CCD) is an independent charitable company founded in 1961, and part of a national network of Rural Community Councils. It aims to help communities help themselves by advising communities and supporting projects throughout rural Devon. Amongst other projects, CCD is running a Climate Change Histories Project to record people’s memories of how their communities coped with past extreme weather events – including storms, snow, droughts and floods.

This database contains information from all available community-led plans across Devon. This includes Parish and Market Town Plans. You can now easily find information about what is going on in your area by consulting the Devon Communities in Action Database.
Within the North Devon Biosphere Reserve, MBA students from the University of East Anglia are working with residents of Winkleigh on a carbon footprinting and carbon reduction project.
