Bulky Waste

Furniture and Unwanted Household Goods

Many items are thrown away each year, which could be repaired and reused. Reusable items such as furniture, bric-a-brac, baths, sinks and electrical appliances are salvaged from the County Councils' Recycling Centres for reuse and at some Centres these are sold back to the public.

If you would like to recycle furniture there are 7 not-for-profit projects in Devon that reuse or recycle furniture. Sofas, beds and wardrobes for example can be donated and reused or recycled as well as many other items including domestic appliances. The furniture is refurbished and passed to people on low incomes for reuse. As well as providing a wide range of household items to people in need the Furniture Projects also reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill by extending the life of otherwise discarded items.

For further information about recycling furniture, either:

  • Contact one of the projects below
