Devon County Council's Recycling Centres are provided for householders to dispose of their bulky household waste.

For further information on your nearest Recycling Centre (e.g. opening times, acceptable material types etc), either:-

Select your nearest Recycling Centre on the interactive Recycling Centres map, or

Select a Recycling Centre from the list below.

Commercial/business waste is not accepted at Recycling Centres, except for garden waste and cardboard which is chargeable (see Commercial/business Waste and Recycling).

If you are unable to access a Recycling Centre for any reason, a special collection of bulky household waste from your property can be arranged. Please contact your local district/city council for further details.

Reasonable assistance will be provided at Recycling Centres when requested.

New Recycling Centre for Sidmouth - Public Exhibition

Devon County Council is working to deliver a new Recycling Centre for the Sidmouth area which will meet the needs of local users with improved access and contribute to our recycling initiatives. Planning permission for the current site will expire shortly and is unlikely to be renewed; it is too small, and gets very congested.

Three sites around the Sidmouth area were identified as having the potential to accommodate a new Recycling Centre facility. A Public Consultation was held in September 2010, which asked local residents which site would be most suitable location for the new facility. 529 responses from the public were received. Of these, 84.5% supported the development of a new facility at the Bowd, just to the south of the existing site.

Given this clear public support, a planning application for the Bowd site has been developed.
