Stover has a variety of volunteer groups who come to the Park on a regular basis to help with routine maintenance and special projects . Without the help of these volunteers the years routine maintenance who be harder to complete. Projects reign from grass raking, brash removal, rhododendron clearance, bridge building, marsh maintenance and path laying, among others.

STOVER VOLUNTEERS   

Stover Volunteers have been running for many years now and come to the Park every last Sunday of the month throughout the winter, from September to April. The sessions start at 10am and finish at 4pm. You can volunteer for any period during the day. People join for different reasonsm - to keep fit, learn new skills,·make friends,·gain valuable experience·or just for fun. The groups are very relaxed and with only one requirement - a good sense of humour.

PLUSS KINGSTIEGTON GROUP

Pluss is a non profit organisation owned by Devon, Plymouth and Torbay County Council. Pluss helps people with disabilities into work through training, education, work based taster sessions, leading to full time employment. As part of the work skills training, a group of clients come to Stover Country Park on a Wednesday to help with the parks' management. With grant support from Wildspace! and help from the Ryefields Axcess Group (PLUSS Group), Stover Parks' bus shelter was given a face lift. A tile mosaic of the Parks' dragonfly emblem was created by the Group.

BTCV

The British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV) is a national charity. Volunteers participate in New Deal 18-24, New Deal 25+ and work-based learning for adults. They are following foundation programmes and training in the occupational areas of land-based provision, among others.

OTTERHAYES

Otterhayes  is set in 4 acres of the East Devon countryside just outside Ottery St Mary, and was set up by Jim and Carolyn Allen in 1985 as a Charitable Trust.

They provide Residential and supportive living for adults with learning difficulties.

They have been actively involved in voluntary practical conservation work for around fifteen years and believe that the conservation work they do greatly benefits their clients in many ways; from understanding their natural environment, to learning practical skills."
